The Ultimate Onahole Buying Guide – Everything You Need To Know

If you’ve never tried an onahole before, you have no idea what you’re missing out on.

Japanese onaholes may just be the best darn sex toys that exist out there for men, yet the majority of people have never tried one. It’s like going from humping a brick to receiving your first blowjob – once you try it, things will never be the same.

Even electronic strokers or fleshlights cannot compare.

However, to an outsider, the world of onaholes can be a bit overwhelming.

So, I’ve put together this ultimate guide that will share with you everything you need to know – from the differences between onaholes, to where to actually buy them, to my top recommendations and more, you’ll come out of this with your world forever changed.

This is probably the largest guide I’ve put together yet. Without any further ado, let’s get started!

What Are Onaholes – And How Do They Differ From Other Sex Toys?

So, what actually is an onahole?

Onahole quite literally translates to ‘masturbation hole’ and they are a group of toys that originally became popular in Japan, but have since exploded in popularity across the world.

As you’ll find out in this guide, onaholes vary quite a lot. However, the gist of them is that they are a realistic tunnel that you either thrust into or stroke on your cock. Some of them are meant to deliver a realistic feel to a vagina, anus or mouth, where others are just meant to give you intense, exciting stimulation.

The most common comparison I see people make is to Fleshlights. Now, Fleshlights are great. They are durable, pretty easy to clean, and they’re still a great step up for somebody who has never tried something like it before.

However, onaholes hold a massive advantage in terms of their realism, how good they feel, and the variety offered. They’re also more aesthetically pleasing – instead of just a vagina in a tube, onaholes may resemble a miniature body with an ass and breasts, a sleeve, may include legs or thighs, and so on. Though, a lot just look like a sleeve.

So, to summarize – an onahole is a hole that you stick your dick into, and feels insanely pleasurable – more so than any other type of sex toy out there.

Onaholes Vs Onahips

When browsing shops that sell onaholes, you may also see a section for something called ‘onahips.’

Onahips have similar tunnel design and feeling to onaholes. However, they’re much larger in size, from something that you can hold with two hands to bounce up and down on your penis, to the size of a full woman’s ass.

The benefit of an onahip is that you can fuck it just like you would an adult woman – for example, missionary or doggystyle. They also look nice, and give you more to grab onto.

The downsides are that they’re much more costly, and much harder to clean. They’re also bigger, so that limits how you can use them as well as how you store them. Many smaller onaholes feel just as nice to thrust into, since the inside of the toy is designed quite similarly.

Onahips have their place, but feeling wise, they are not necessarily any greater than regular onaholes. Buy one if you want to fuck it the same way you would a woman, but understand that there isn’t anything magically special about them vs. regular onaholes.

Materials: TPE Vs Silicone

Next, let’s talk about the types of materials that onaholes come in.

If you’re used to traditional sex toys, you’re probably most familiar with silicone. Silicone makes up most dildos, anal toys, and other types of toys you’ll find on the market. Everything from kegel balls to butt plugs often come in silicone, and for good reason.

Silicone is easy to clean, it’s very durable, and it’s non-porous. This means there aren’t microscopic holes that bacteria can get trapped and grow in. Silicone onaholes are very durable and can last a very long time – in fact, there’s no reason they should break if properly cared for. However, they don’t feel very realistic, and are often quite firm or hard, which can be off-putting to some people.

This is why most onaholes use a material called TPE, or thermoplastic elastomer. TPE is very soft, very realistic, but comes with downsides in terms of durability. It is porous in nature, and will grow bacteria or even mold if you do not properly care for your onaholes.

That being said, TPE onaholes can still last for years and years with proper care, even with regular use. For most people, I recommend starting with TPE onaholes – they are truly the best in terms of stimulation, and you won’t know what you’re missing if you don’t try one!

Single-Layer Vs Dual-Layer

This isn’t quite as important to know about, but onaholes also come in single-layer or dual-layer varieties.

This is basically how many layers of material there are with the onahole. For example, a dual-layer onahole may have a harder interior material to make it more stimulating, and a softer outer material that feels more like skin.

Long-story short, single-layer onaholes tend to be less stimulating, but more durable. They may also be cheaper. Dual-layer onaholes are generally more stimulating, but the layers can separate over time.

I wouldn’t worry a whole lot about this. Find onaholes that you like and buy them, regardless of whether they’re single-layer or dual-layer.

Soft Vs. Hard

One category that does make quite a big difference is how soft the onahole is, or how hard it is.

This tends to fall on a spectrum. Some people like really velvety, soft onaholes that feel really smooth. Others like harder onaholes with more defined textures for your penis to slide over. One is not necessarily better than the other, it all comes down to personal preference. This is why when we get to the recommendations section of the guide, I actually will recommend buying one that is on the softer side, and one on the harder side, as they are very different from each other.

Generally speaking, harder onaholes tend to be more stimulating, while also being more durable. However, this doesn’t mean soft onaholes are bad.

For example, softer onaholes may be more pleasurable for longer masturbation sessions where you want to edge for lengthy periods of time, without cumming by accident. Whereas highly stimulating onaholes may be great if you want as explosive of an orgasm as possible, quickly.

Different Types Of Onaholes

One of the things that is really special about onaholes is that they come in so many different varieties!

Therefore, it’s important to consider what type of onahole you want as well.

For example, there are onaholes that mimic a vagina, obviously. There are also plenty of onaholes designed to mimic anal fucking, or the feeling of a blowjob – with or without teeth. Heck, there’s even onaholes that are designed to have you fucking a urethra!

(Alright, that one gives me the heebie-jeebies a little bit. But hey, knock yourself out!)

Of course, it doesn’t end there. We have onaholes based on specific pornstars, onaholes based on anime characters. Even onaholes based on fantasy creatures, like monsters, golems, dragons, and more!

If you’re a beginner, I recommend sticking with regular vaginal onaholes for now. Anal holes tend to be less stimulating and are used for longer masturbation sessions, where as fantasy ones are often for novelty – though they’re fun too, as you build your collection.

Most onahips and some larger onaholes have both a vaginal and anal tunnel to enjoy, so that’s also an option as well.

Where Are The Best Places To Buy Onaholes Online?

Strangely enough, you won’t find onaholes on a lot of mainstream sex toy sites, like Adam & Eve or Lovehoney. They may offer some, but their selection will be very limited.

Instead, I recommend buying onaholes from stores that specialize in this area. Not only will they have a better selection, but they’ll be better equipped to help you should you need it.

That being said, here are my current top retailers for onaholes.

1. Onahole.com (US) / Motsutoys.com (EU)

My favorite retailer of all is currently Onahole.com if you’re in the US, or Motsutoys if you’re based in Europe. Both are owned by the same company, and while Motsutoys has a larger selection than Onahole.com is, I’m a really huge fan of the company.

All-in-all, they offer everything you want. Discreet, secure packaging. Fast shipping (the fastest out of any company that I’ve tried.) Knowledgeable and helpful support staff that respond quickly.

The company that owns them also manufactures their own toys and accessories, so they’re really heavily invested in the world of onaholes – not just acting as a reseller.

That being said, I might be a little biased. They’ve partnered with me and offered a deal to my audience that gives them a free bonus onahole for anybody that shops through my link, and they’ve done a lot to help educate me about onaholes themselves. I’m really appreciative of their staff for the help and insight that they’ve given me.

The biggest downside with them is that their US site doesn’t carry a whole lot of the most popular onaholes you might want to try. But if the onahole you want is available from Onahole.com or Motsutoys.com, I’d always recommend shopping there first.

If you want to learn more, you can read my full review of them here!

2. ToyDemon

My next favorite store is ToyDemon, and I have very few complaints about them as well.

ToyDemon is perhaps the largest US-based onahole retailer, with the largest catalog by far. Most of the world’s most popular onaholes are stocked here, and their site has great navigation to help you discover new onaholes as well. Filters are available for things like softness, genre, size, and more.

ToyDemon has a loyalty and rewards program that gives you cash towards future purchases, and the amount increases over time as you ‘level up’ to different tiers. This makes it a great site to order from once you start collecting onaholes and spending more money.

Some items are priced a little higher than I’ve seen them elsewhere, but you’re getting a company that ships from the U.S, avoiding the hassles that come with international shipments when ordering from a place like Japan.

That being said, I did have one experience where a package was lost by USPS after ordering from them. It took 3 weeks after the product was supposed to be delivered before they were willing to acknowledge that the package was truly lost, and although this wasn’t a normal experience, waiting a month for onaholes to arrive left a sour taste in my mouth. I feel customer service could’ve been more proactive about making it up to me. At the very least, expediting shipping for the second order. But nope.

Still, ToyDemon is one of the most popular websites for onaholes, and you can’t go wrong ordering from them.

3. OtonaJP

Finally, we have OtonaJP.

OtonaJP ships directly from Japan, which means higher shipping costs, slower shipping times, and well, it has to go through customs. However, they offer cheap prices on their onaholes, and offer a lot of products that the other two sites don’t carry. In fact, there are a ton of onaholes I’ve never even heard of here!

OtonaJP also sells ‘scent sprays’ that might enhance your experience, if you’re into that. Some examples include ‘Scent of a School Girls Uniform’, ‘Scent of Female Student Lotion’, “The smell of my niece’s sweat”, and “The Holy Odor of Steamed Panties.” I have not tried any of these, so I don’t have much to say about them.

Anyhow, OtonaJP is less popular than the other two sites, which means there aren’t a whole lot of reviews to base judgment off of.

Me and my review partner Jimmy will be placing a large order with them soon, and post some reviews ourselves here on the blog!

Onahole Recommendations For Beginners

Now that we know a lot of the differences between different onaholes, as well as some places where you can order them, which onaholes would I actually recommend starting with?

Because onahole preferences are so individualistic, I recommend starting with two that are very different from each other. That way, you can determine what style you like more, while still having two distinct onaholes to switch it up with. This will help you immensely when it comes to making future purchases, and building your collection.

1. Slut Angel DX

Slut Angel DX, Front

The first is the Slut Angel DX, which you can get from Onahole.com (US) or Motsutoys.com (EU.)

The Slut Angel DX is a harder, highly-stimulating and highly-textured onahole that in many ways, feels even better than a real vagina. It features two tunnels, a vaginal tunnel and an anal tunnel, and is quite aesthetically pleasing as well, boasting a pair of titties on the front and a nice bubbly ass in the back.

It is probably the most durable of all onaholes I’ve reviewed and should last you a very long time without any tears or damages whatsoever.

You can read my full review by clicking here!

2. The ZXY (Meiki no Syoumei 05 Zhang Xiao Yu)

ZXY Onahole In Hand

The other onahole I’d recommend buying straight away is known as the ZXY. Its’ tunnel design is modeled after a famous nude model from China, and many people describe this as the ‘gold standard’ of onaholes. In fact, if you’re active in onahole communities, you’ll find a lot of people use the ZXY as a frame of reference when talking about other onaholes – everything else gets compared to it.

My toy reviewer personally does not feel it’s the best onahole ever, but that’s not the point. You’re getting something that’s very soft, and very different from the Slut Angel DX. For many people, the ZXY DOES end up being their favorite onahole, because that’s the style they end up preferring.

This might just be the most popular onahole ever, and when buying it alongside the Slut Angel DX, you’ll instantly know what style you lean towards.

The ZXY can be purchased from Motsutoys in Europe, or from Toydemon if you’re in the US. You can read the full review for the Meiki no Syoumei 05 Zhang Xiao Yu onahole by clicking here!

Must-Have Onahole Accessories

So, you know a lot about the different types of the onaholes, where to buy them, and which you should consider buying first.

What about accessories?

In order to make your onahole experience as painless as possible, I do recommend buying a few. These mostly have to do with protecting the longevity of your toy, and making the hassle of cleaning easier.

1. Drying Stick

One tool that absolutely everyone should have, regardless of what onahole you end up buying, is a drying stick.

Drying sticks will suck up the residual moisture that is left after cleaning your onahole. It’s very important that you get all the moisture out before storing your onahole, as moisture can lead to the growth of bacteria or even mold. Which, will give you urinary tract infections and force you to throw your toy away. No fun.

Simply stick the drying stick inside, clamp down on it for a short time, and your onahole will be completely dry.

I recommend the KYO drying sticks available here. (US Link | Europe Link)

2. Good Lube

Good lube is also a necessity.

Lube preferences vary from person to person. You will need something water-based for use with onaholes – any other kind of lube shouldn’t be used. This includes saliva, which is full of bacteria and will shorten your toy’s lifespan. For more information on why saliva shouldn’t be used with onaholes, click here.

Personally, I recommend Onatsuyu Pussy Juicy Lotion lube, available from Toydemon or OtonaJP. A huge bottle of it is pretty cheap, under $20, and should last you 3 months even if you use your onahole every day. If you only use it periodically, it can easily last you a year.

3. KYO Steri Warmer

An onahole warmer is particularly great for short sessions, where you just want it to feel as good as possible.

This warmer plugs in via USB, and warms up your onahole so it feels, well, warm when you enter into it. While your onahole will heat up to body temperature over time, there’s something nice about thrusting into something that already feels warm and realistic.

The KYO Steri Warmer (US Link | Europe Link) also uses UV light to kill bacteria and germs while it heats up, prolonging the life of your toy. This is super cool, because it can kill bacteria as deep as the light can penetrate – which will be deeper than you can clean with soap and water alone.

A full review of the KYO Steri Warmer can be found here.

Other Accessories

Other accessories you may consider are microfiber drying sticks or gloves to get the bulk of the water out before using a regular drying stick, powder which can help your onahole from becoming too sticky, and something like the KYO Shower (US Link | Europe Link), which is a nozzle that shoots out water in different directions. This can help with cleaning particularly tight or troublesome onaholes.

Closing Thoughts

Onaholes can be life-changing, if you’ve never tried one before. I sincerely hope that this guide has given you a better picture on the differences between them, and how to choose onaholes that might be best for you.

Between the different materials, types and firmness levels, as well as where to buy them and what accessories are worth considering, I really tried to make this as comprehensive as possible. However, if you have any questions at all about onaholes – or anything I mentioned in this article, please ask them in the comment form below. I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy your onaholes!
