One set of laws that may be considered are outlined in a 900 page document called Project 2025, which some people affiliated with Trump’s campaign now admit is the agenda they’re looking to push.

One of the concerning ideas? Well, let me just quote it. After stating that that pornography is tied to transgender ideology and sexualization of children, it goes on to say, quote:

“It has no claim to First amendment protection. Its purveyors are child predators and misogynistic exploiters of women. Their product is as addictive as any illicit drug and as psychologically destructive as any crime. Pornography should be outlawed. The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as sex offenders.”

Pretty extreme, right? According to them, not only should porn be outlawed, but I should be thrown in prison for making it.

Unfortunately, this would not just affect Americans, but both sex workers and enjoyers of porn all around the world. But what are the chances something like this actually passes and becomes reality?

In this article, I’ll share my thoughts. I am by no means a political expert, or even that political of a person, but here’s what I think about it.

Porn Will Probably Be Safe, But Expect Changes

Personally, I don’t feel like it’s realistic for them to outright ban pornography. However, that doesn’t mean that laws won’t get passed that make it harder to access – as we are already seeing in a bunch of U.S. states.

Porn is simply too big to stop, even if the government wanted to. Without blocking off and censoring the entire internet similarly to China’s Great Firewall, and then criminalizing usage of VPNs, there is simply no way you’ll be able to keep people from watching porn.

Hell, even with the internet completely restricted, people would start sharing it through USB sticks if they had to. Porn has always driven technology forward, and people like it too much to let the government get away with this.

4% of websites on the internet are pornographic, and 20% of searches made on mobile devices are porn related. Pornhub is the 16th largest website in the world and even if we just look at the largest say, 10 free porn sites, they are visited over 10 billion times a month.

Porn is also an enormous industry, estimated to be between 15 and $97 billion annually. This is greater than the combined revenue of not only the NFL – the largest sports league in America, but also the NBA and Major League Baseball. That is a lot of tax revenue that the government would be missing out on, especially since America is the biggest spender on porn, and so many porn companies are based in the U.S.

Perhaps the biggest reason that I don’t see it going away however, is that people want porn. And with the exception of extreme religious fanatics, this sentiment is pretty universal. Heck, even the people in government enjoy porn too, and probably don’t want to see it go away.

Because porn is enjoyed by almost everyone, it would be very unpopular to see it outlawed completely. And generally speaking, governments don’t want to do things that upset everyone at the same time, without any real benefit. People may not notice if certain rights are casually eroded away in the background, but they’ll certainly notice if they were able to enjoy a good wank 4 years ago, but aren’t allowed to anymore.

In a country that prides itself on being free to make your own choices, I simply see this being too unpopular to get away with.

How This Will Affect Both You And Me

Although I am hopeful for porn’s future, I certainly expect things to get more difficult – especially for those living in very conservative states.

Rather than a federal ban on porn, what’s far more likely is that laws will continue getting enacted that either makes porn more difficult to access, or makes porn companies more difficult to operate.

One such example is the age-verification laws that have already passed in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

Because the proposed verification system is not realistically feasible, Pornhub has already ceased services in the states where the laws have already rolled out, cutting residents off from large amounts of pornography that is only available on their website.

But you have to wonder – how many sites will be affected? What about websites like Reddit, where porn is only a part of it? Will they require age verification, or will they simply delete all porn subreddits from their platform?

It’s concerning to think about.

Additionally, since small creators like me build awareness and get a lot of our customers from these sites, these laws are already impacting our ability to maintain or grow our businesses. For many creators, the rollout of more laws like these may be what ultimately forces them to quit.

Personally, I feel like big porn companies are the safest from these changes, and they know it. Otherwise, why wouldn’t they have lobbied – or at least made visitors aware about Project 2025 prior to the election? If I was a big porn site and thought my entire company was at risk, I’d have plastered ads about it all everywhere. We thought the presidential race was tight, and Big Porno is certainly prominent enough to have affected the election in some small way. Even if they might not have changed the result.

Again, I do not think it is feasible to block free porn from the internet. It can be hosted on offshore servers, by offshore companies, and there’s nothing the government can do about it without playing whack-a-mole and enacting some sort of firewall, effectively censoring the internet.

What may happen is that it will simply become more inconvenient to access, your selection may be lower, and there will be less mega-sites like Pornhub and more fragmentation. Big paid studios may also benefit because of this, while smaller independent creators like myself have less platforms to market ourselves on.

Conclusion

The ideas proposed by Project 2025 are incredibly scary – and in fact, the proposals on porn are some of the ones I’m concerned about the least.

While I do not think that it’s feasible to outlaw pornography entirely, that doesn’t mean that there still isn’t a lot that can be done to make our lives harder. And considering the plan is supported by so many right-wing organizations – who have already passed other proposals during Trump’s first term, I’m a little scared for the future.

That being said, I will keep pushing on as if nothing will happen.

So, how well does porn pay, really? In this article, I’ll be doing a deep dive into the earning of both amateur and professional pornstars, what determines their income, and more! I found this to be pretty interesting while I was researching, so I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it!

How Pornstars Get Paid

Before we cover specific numbers, it’s important to understand a little bit of how pornstars actually get paid – that is, the different ways they earn money.

The majority of the time, studios pay a fixed amount per scene. So, you shoot one scene, you get paid a certain amount. Many pornstars go under contract with different studios to do X number of scenes, either filmed in quick succession or over time.

In some cases, porn stars may get paid a percentage of a clip’s sales, or royalties. This may sometimes be done in addition to a base fee.

This is rare these days, for the same reason that most businesses don’t do profit sharing. It’s a hassle, and most of the big studios sell their library as a subscription anyway, rather than charging for individual clips.

It actually poses a bit of problems for pornstars who decide to quit the industry – once they leave, they have no income coming in from their former work, and may struggle to get employment elsewhere that pays anywhere near the same amount.

That being said, pornstars don’t just make money shooting for major studios. Many of them have their own websites, Onlyfans’ pages, and even lines of sex toys that they sell to their fans. Some sell panties and other intimate items. Some strip, some do escorting, the list goes on and on.

The Factors That Influence Earnings

Let’s start talking numbers!

As already mentioned, payment within the industry can vary wildly from person to person, and from scene to scene.

Obviously, the more scenes that a person does, the more they’ll make over the course of a year. But what factors influence the price per scene?

At the very bottom of the payment scale, we have scenes that are just a solo girl – think stripteases or masturbation. These might pay $350-$500.

Girl-girl scenes may pay between $800 and $1,000, where man-woman scenes can pay up to $1,500. These are earnings for female pornstars, by the way.

It might be unsurprising to hear that your gender will affect your earnings. Typically, men earn less. Whereas a woman might earn $1,500 for a scene, a male performer may only earn between $500 and $900 for the same scene.

That being said, it is possible for pornstars to make more.

The more intense or fringe the scene is, the more it will pay. Anal scenes can earn a few hundred bucks more, where more extreme acts – like double penetration or extreme fetishes, can earn several thousand dollars per scene.

More money may also be paid if the scene is unique – for example, an actress’ first time engaging in a fetish, or doing anal. You know, stuff people will pay to see, that will drive their fans to sign up for the studios’ websites.

So, how much do they make overall?

The average popular pornstar will do 100 scenes a year or so, so you can do the math. Even at $1,500 per scene, that is just $150k a year, before taxes.

$150,000 a year is nothing to scoff at, but it’s hardly what you’d expect for a mainstream star.

Does This Mean You Can Hire A Pornstar For Just $1,000?

Okay, so $1,000 even for a mainstream pornstar doesn’t seem like a whole lot of money – at least not to me. But if you wanted to fuck them, $1,000 might seem like a bargain.

Could you do it? Could $1,000 be all that you need to fuck someone super hot, and super famous like that?

Probably not.

Remember, this is what pornstars make – it’s not what the studios spend. In addition to travel and hospitality, there are also things like agent fees – typically 10-15% extra, that have to be considered.

It’s also worth noting that personal safety is paramount for pornstars, and they’ll likely only work with established studios.

They May Make Much More Through Other Channels, However

Okay, so we have some established numbers. About $1,000 to $1,500 for your standard scene for women, $500-900 for men. Women will do up to 100 scenes a year. Standard pornstars will make around $100-150k a year through filming alone, and top-of-the-line pornstars who are in high demand may make as much as $350,000 per year.

Of course, this is just through shooting scenes for major studios.

Although the industry has gotten much more competitive in the last couple of decades, the playing field has also been leveled a little bit. There are a LOT more opportunities for them to use their fame to make money that aren’t gatekept by a few decision makers at a major studio.

Considering we have girls you’ve never heard of making more than a million dollars per year on Onlyfans, it’s quite possible they are making significantly more elsewhere.

In fact, Jenna Jameson (who was quite popular in the past), made upwards of $30 million per year selling her own line of sex toys.

It’s impossible to know how much for sure each girl is making, and popularity doesn’t always play as big of a role as you think. Some are simply better businesspeople than others. But with big audiences, comes big opportunities!

Although pornstars can certainly make a lot of money through their fame, studios don’t actually pay as much as you might think.

While it can be a lucrative job if you make it big, the life of a pornstar is usually quite short-lived. In fact, according to famous pornstar Valentina Nappi, most will see a decline in booked scenes by the time they’re just 26 years old.

While many go on to become producers or sell content independently, it’s not a career you can carry on forever.

As with all of Kink’s channels, there are no additional photo sets to go along with the videos.

Considering it must be a lot of work to set this sort of stuff up, it would’ve been nice if we could’ve gotten some extra high-res photos to go with the video shots.

Sadly, all we get is a zip file containing screenshots from the video itself – hardly something to write home about!

It Took Too Long For 1080p To Become Available

To be fair, Kink adopted 720p pretty early on, and I commend them for that.

However, it took way too long for them to switch to 1080p.

By 2021, when Kink finally started publishing 1080p scenes for Sex And Submission, most major sites were already releasing videos in 4K.

I want every drop of sweat and every pore on their skin visible, damn it! I didn’t buy this new 4K TV for nothing after all!

Conclusion

Although there’s no fancy gimmicks or unique aspects of BDSM that Sex And Submission focuses on, this is exactly the type of content most people think of when they think of Kink.

So, once I have a decent amount of content up on the site, I am going to revamp the homepage so content is split off into different sections.

This will allow people to quickly get to the content they care about, while still showing all new updates on the home page.

I guess what’s important to understand, is that the website won’t be cluttered, and you can easily ignore any of these categories that you don’t care about.

They say people who announce what they’re planning to do before they actually do it, are less likely to actually follow through.

So, let’s see if that’s the case!

It will take a few weeks before the site really starts getting built out again. I am still preparing my next month of audio, and want to ensure that I’m well ahead on my main work before focusing too much attention on other projects.
